This past week we did like a two day trip up to Michigan,
as Michigan is further north then us, but it was to like
to a small summer place that an uncle of mine has,
that the whole family tends to share. It’s on a small lake,
nothing like the big rolling Lake Michigan.
As we were sitting out in the yard yesterday evening I had the
thought that so many city and suburban kids don’t know
what it’s like to really swim in real water, a lake, a river, a ocean.
When I was younger I’d end up in a creek that ran near a
relative’s small town, or going in the lake . Maybe I’m wrong
thinking it, but I sometimes get the idea a lot of those kids the
only water they’ve been in was swimming pools, all clean and
sanitized… or the bathtub..
What a shame that would be, that they might never have the
chance to experience something really unique.
